Let's get this started

Let's get this started

I see nobody has posted on breastfeeding yet, so let this be the first ever thread. I'm sitting at the PC and my almost 13 month old is feeding sleepily - that's about the only time I get online these days, as she is very busy most of the time. :)

Hey Mrs Ingalls, welcome to the board. I'm not a bf mum, tried to bf on dd, now almost 2, but I wasn't producing enough milk and found so hard! I think those who bf are brill, it's not the easiest of tasks. How many LOs have you?

I'm still feeding DD who is 2 and 4 months...only intended to get to 6 weeks...and definitely couldn't have imagined feeding a walking talking toddler with TEETH!!! Only one feed at night, now, and she refused it this evening for the first time ever....this might be the end of the road for us.

That happened me on DS, Erin...sometimes it just doesn't work. I remember feeling so disappointed in myself when it didn't work the first time...I didn't even intend feeding DD after we came home from hospital. I had all the 'kit' at the ready, and just literally went from one feed to the next. At the end of the day, though, you just have to weigh up what's best for your particular situation at the time and go with that.

Hi girls
I'm breastfeeding my 5month old still. I was only going to do it till 6 weeks also but I read a brilliant quote from a breastfeeding mum on another forum "never quit on a bad day" and it worked wonders for me. I always wanted to give it up on a bad day then when the good days came along it got easier again!!
So glad I stuck with it though.

yep joey, I heard that one too... never quit on a bad day! And it worked here! BF-ing DS now 3 months, but thrush at 3 weeks really tested us. :) DD was BF till 9 months too, so hope to get thereabouts with DS too!

I bottle fed my first 2, then breast fed my third.

WOW, I wish I could roll back time and breast feed them all. It was amazing and I'm so glad I tried it. The convenience of it apart from anything else is hard to beat. :)

Great quote joeyW,
I think animal testing is cruel. They get nervous and get all the answers wrong.
